LACMA - TIM BURTON EXHIBIT

Finally I managed to find some time to check out the Tim Burton Exhibit at LACMA before it leaves on Halloween out of all days! I would have to say what I really know Tim Burton from is from Nightmare Before Christmas, one of my favorite movies! It is so interesting and creepy at the same time.

Though I had an idea of the work Tim Burton was known for, I didn't know he was involved with so many movies such as the Batman trilogy, Planet of the Apes, and Mars Attacks! Despite having the $20 entrance free for one exhibit, it was truly fascinating to say the least. The exhibit contained basically everything Tim Burton form works he did from when he was a little kid, to all his movie works, which mainly contain his "muse" and children's godfather Johnny Depp along with his wife and other muse Helena Bonham Carter.

Many of the exhibit contained his drawings which consisted mostly of pencil and pen sketches which were so detail oriented! All his characters had these creepy stories which were alarming in an odd, fun way that you were instantly intrigued. What the exhibit also contained were costumes from the movies he did such as Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks, and Sleepy Hollow. I think why this exhibit is such a popular attraction is because of how out of the box his thinking was, to the extent where anyone can relate to, even though they may think they're not into "dark" stuff. All of his works contain satire which despite it's creepy story, makes you laugh at the end and want more. Seeing this exhibit just made me want to find out more about him and watch all his movies again.

See it before it leaves HALLOWEEN!!!
