Jessica Simpson gives birth...FINALLY!

So I can remember the announcement of Jessica Simpson saying she was pregnant, which seemed like about a year ago. All these recent pictures of Jessica still showed her pregnant, while everyone was wondering when she was going to give birth. Well people...today May 1st is the day. Jessica Simpson gave birth to a healthy 9 pound, 13 ounces baby girl.

"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received," the announcement continued. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"

I'm honestly happy for her and her fiance Eric Johnson. Now all the negative press surrounding her pregnancy can cease, and she can now be comfortable instead of hauling around a baby for all this time. (Btw does anyone else feel really sorry for Jessica with all these horrible pregnancy pics looming on the internet?)

Jessica Simpson: 'Simple' Wedding with Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson leave the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Wednesday (December 1) in New York City.

The night before, the 30-year-old singer performed at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting NBC telecast.

Jess recently told People she wants her upcoming wedding to be “simple.”

As for planning the actual ceremony, Jessica said she hasn’t even started.

“I have not set a date and I can’t even think about putting together like table settings and all that,” she said. “We’re just going to enjoy the engagement and we’ll get married the moment we feel like it.”

Eric Johnson has popped the question to Jessica Simpson!

“We’re thrilled to confirm that it’s true!” Jessica’s rep confirms to JustJared.com. “They are engaged.”

Jess, 30, said yes when Eric proposed on Thursday (November 11). The 30-year-old singer and her former NFL player beau began dating back in May.

Earlier in the week, Jessica’s ex-husband, Nick Lachey, announced his engagement to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.

Jessica Simpson smiles from cheek to cheek in the arms of her boyfriend, former pro football player Eric Johnson, during a Jessica Simpson Collection in-store appearance event at Belk Southpark Mall on Saturday (September 18) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“So excited to meet y’all in your @JSCollection duds!” Jess tweeted on her way to the event.

After Jess met hundreds of fans, she wrote, “Just to let everyone know… I appreciate you…ALL of you! Love me Hate me…you are Loved and I’m Grateful! XO”

Soon after, Jess and Eric caught a flight home to L.A. and were spotted at LAX airport.

Jessica Simpson: Christmas Album is Complete!

Jessica Simpson, her boyfriend, former pro football player Eric Johnson, and her mom Tina, catch a departing flight to New York City via LAX airport in Los Angeles on Monday (October 11).

The 30-year-old powerhouse singer tweeted yesterday, “Just finished Christmas record!” And the day before, she wrote, “My buds @petewentz and [Bronx] came to the studio to hear my Christmas album and Bronx kept saying ‘more’!!! I’m a hit with my nephew!”

So exciting!!! Jess has been busy recording festive tunes with country legend Willie Nelson and super producers The-Dream & Tricky Stewart.

Pete, 29, recently shared his secret to putting Bronx to sleep. He told UK’s Daily Mail, “To get our son to sleep we play him Bob Dylan’s ‘You Belong To Me’. Or a little Sinatra.”
The Fall Out Boy rocker continued, “My boy’s probably the last person in the world to appreciate my singing voice. Although I wrote a lullaby especially for him – you’ll find it on our new album if you look hard enough – it’s a hidden track. We had so much fun doing it I’m going to put out an album of songs for children.”
