Nikki Reed and fiance Paul McDonald are all smiles at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday (June 19) at the MuchMusic HQ in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The 23-year-old Twilight star stepped out in a black and white strapless cocktail dress with sequin detail by Ronald Abdala.

Earlier this month at the MTV Movie Awards, Nikki debuted the engagement ring Paul, 26, had given to her.

The former American Idol contestant proposed with a “modern version of a platinum and diamond eternity ring that could also work as a stunning wedding band,” jewelry expert Michael O’Connor told Us Weekly.

The sparkler “features full diamonds surrounded by intertwining platinum, and is a great symbol of two people bonding together for a lifetime. Estimated price tag: $30,000,” he added.

Nikki Reed: Engaged to Paul McDonald?

Nikki Reed and her boyfriend, former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald, are set to tie the knot, E! Online reports.

The 23-year-old Twilight star flashed a piece of jewelry on her left ring finger at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, which she attended with Paul, 26.

A source confirmed to E! that the two are engaged, while Nikki would only tell the website, “He’s the one.”

Last month while celebrating her birthday in Las Vegas, the couple got each other’s names tattooed on their fingers, according to HollywoodLife.

Paul McDonald & Nikki Reed: Dating!

American Idol’s Paul McDonald and Twilight actress Nikki Reed are officially dating!

“Yes, me and Nikki are dating. It’s officially true,” Paul told E! “She’s super cool. She’s super smart so I’m happy with it. We’ve been hanging out here and there. We’re both pretty busy, but it been fun so far.”

Paul said that Nikki is not bummed that he was voted off American Idol last night.

“She is actually pumped,” he told People. “She said, ‘Dude, you finally get to do your thing and be yourself and be the artist you are.’ She is happy about the whole situation. She has been nothing but cool to me.”

Paul, 26, and Nikki, 22, first met at the premiere of Red Riding Hood last month.

AMERICAN IDOL MATCHMAKER?!

It seems American Idol, the #1 show on television is not only showcasing many of the young talent out there, but also playing the role of matchmaker.

The first couple that emerged was Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart, who being confined in the American Idol household and seeing each other every waking moment of the week, something was about to transpire. Both contestants also happen to be very similar types of singers, the most soulful and diverse of the group.

The second couple that isn't confirmed, but is making headlines in the news are surprise eliminee Pia Toscano and Dancing with the Stars professional Mark Ballas. Both were caught out eating dinner on two separate recent occasions and when asked about one another, Ballas says Toscano is a "really beautiful girl" and "It is what it is. I'm having a great time. I have no complaints right now." Toscano on her end says that Ballas is really good friend. Who knew fellow Dancing with the Stars celebrity contestant Chris Jericho could be thanked for the hookup.

The third couple definitely confirmed are recent castoff Paul McDonald and actress Nicki Reed. Both met on the red carpet premiere of Little Red Riding Hood where Nikki said off the bat that Paul was a cutie. "[Nikki's] supercool. She's been real supportive of this whole thing. She's actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show." He instantly fell for the talented actress, and both agreed that he won't be watching any of her vampire movies anytime soon.

It seems like if you're a relationship person or looking for love, American Idol is the show you should be on. Being in the Hollywood spotlight, can garner you so much attention from every platform imaginable. Think about all the potential options in mates: other contestants, professional dancers on television shows, actors you meet on red carpet events...IT'S INSANE!!!
