JOHNNY DEPP AND VANESSA PARADIS CONFIRM THEIR SPLIT!

Is it sad that I know a lot of people, well girls more in particular who are very happy with this news? I mean he's very good looking and all, but it makes me sad to see a couple who have been together for so long break up.

Though the two initially met in 1993, they reconnected again at a French hotel in 1998 and began dating soon afterward. "She was wearing a dress with an exposed back and I saw that back and that neck, and then she turned around and I saw those eyes, and—boom! My life as a single man was done."

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis amicably broke up after 14 years of dating, they both confirmed. Rumors of their split began to surface earlier this year in January, but they both denied it. The ex-couple did not accompany each other to any red carpet event in over a year, and were living separate lives. Johnny Depp's Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard was also in the mix by saying they were romantically involved with each other.

While asked about her relationship with Depp during her own movie promotion, Vanessa Paradis said to a French television program, "Yes it's false! Of course it's false!" adding how these rumors can truly hurt her family especially their two kids they have together: Lily-Rose (13 years old) and Jack (10 years old).

Now that the rumors have been confirmed, it makes me wonder if dating someone and not officially getting married is the answer to a long lasting relationship. I mean since they're not married, it's basically like any regular breakup, just with kids involved. I feel within a marriage, there are still obligations to your family and each other, not just a "it's over" type of situation.

Are you shocked by their breakup news? Do you think Johnny Depp will start dating right after?
