JENNIFER LOPEZ AND AMERICAN IDOL PART WAYS

Now one day after fellow judge Steven Tyler announced that him and American Idol are parting ways, Jennifer Lopez is now following suit. Both her and Steven joined the judges panel for seasons 10 and 11 of the talent competition which brought a much needed makeover to the show. This past season 11 had the lowest viewer ratings in American Idol history.

"Something had to give, something has to give. I was really dreading this phone call with you. I honestly feel the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that you do, and you have to pay attention to that, too. I could keep doing Idol for the rest of my life, but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. I feel like we had an amazing run. No matter what you guys need over there, I'm always going to be here. I feel there's that tie there. I just can't be there every day like I was for the last two years. It's just one of those special things in your life you don't want to walk away from," she added tearfully."

American Idol has definitely catapulted Jennifer Lopez into a super mega-star! Not only has she been on top of the charts again, but where do you not see all these Jennifer Lopez endorsements? She's seriously in like everything! I feel that through the show, Jennifer Lopez has definitely humanized the celebrity we usually refer to as JLo. She sympathized a lot with the contestants. Since she's not going to be a judge anymore, she said how open she was to being a mentor for one of the weeks while working with the contestants on the show. I know she would be a great fit!

Now for the future of American Idol, where will it head to now? Technically, Randy Jackson is the only judge left, let alone the original! I feel for American Idol to continue competing with other talent competitions, they need to start on a clean slate. Yes I said it, bring 3 new judges to the table! Stay tuned!

Steven Tyler Leaves American Idol

Now that the 11th season of American Idol is under wraps, Steven Tyler has decided to leave American Idol after being a judge for two seasons with Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez.

"After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass – the ultimate in auditory takeover. On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars. IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it ... Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD.”

Simon Fuller, co-creator and executive producer of American Idol commented, "I completely understand his desire to get back to his life as the singer in America's greatest-ever rock band. AMERICAN IDOL will miss him!”

I am glad to hear that Aerosmith is getting back together. Though I loved the 10th season of American Idol when Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joined Randy Jackson as the judges, I felt Steven Tyler didn't really fit in. Yes, he is a veteran in the music industry, but I felt a lot of his critique was useless. Not to mention, his comments, especially to the females were a bit controversial and risque. There were quite a few times where I'd be like "Omg, did he just say that to that minor?! With her parents, even dad right there?!" Best of luck to Aerosmith though, I can't wait to hear their new stuff. Special shout out to Joe Perry ;)

AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 11 FINALE!

Let me be the one to tell you that American Idol has the Best Finale! Seriously all the other shows try to top it, but I believe no one EVER will! They have so much star power, and just the entire segment of the special two hour finale is filled with surprises and amazingness!

I feel it's like you cannot meet one moment of the entire show because every second of it has something worthy of tuning into. Just to name a "few" of the jam-packed duets and guest performances: Rihanna performed "Where Have You Been"; Chaka Kahn joined all the female finalists in singing "I'm Every Woman"; Neil Diamond sang "Sweet Caroline" with all the male finalists; Reba McEntire and Skylar Laine sang "Turn on the Radio"; Josha Ledet and Fantasia Barrino sang Elton John's "Take Me to the Pilot"; Hollie Cavanagh and Jordin Sparks belted out "You'll Never Walk Alone"; Philip Phillips and John Fogerty from CCR teamed up together to sing some classics "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" and "Bad Moon Rising"; Jessica Sanchez and Jennifer Holliday sang the "Dreamgirls" signature song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". The male finalists also did a tribute to Robin Gibb who passed away recently by paying homage to the Bee Gee classics "How Deep is Your Love", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" and "To Love Somebody".

To be a judge on Idol, you get some serious exposure. Not only the fact that you're on an insanely popular television reality show competition, but because you can also use it as a platform for your music. Case in point...Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. My girl Jennifer Lopez strutted her stuff and performed "Goin' In" with Lil Jon and Flo Ride and "Follow the Leader" with the Puerto Rican duo Wisin & Yandel. Too bad those baggy bottoms didn't come off, I was waiting to see a more revealing outfit, but as usual Jennifer Lopez just looks too damn good in everything...(love.that.woman). Steven Tyler also got up onstage to perform the new single "Legendary Child" and the classic "Walk This Way" with fellow Aerosmith members.

The best performances of the night for me were definitely Hollie Cavanagh and Jordin Sparks dueting on "You'll Never Walk Alone" and Jessica Sanchez and Jennifer Holliday singing their hearts out to "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going". All these women put their hearts and souls out to sing these songs and give it's credit due. They totally nailed the songs!

Being a sappy romantic, the highlight of the night was definitely the live wedding proposal from fifth season Idol finalist Ace Young to third season runner-up Diana Degarmo. He brought her up on-stage and confessed his love for her and their future together. It made me low-key emotional myself seeing this! Of course Diana accepted too! Both actually didn't meet on idol, but on Broadway when they worked on the Hair production together. This is a freakin gorgeous couple and I'm so happy for the both of them! And now I'm low-key obsessing about them!

As Phillip Phillips was announced the American Idol Season 11 winner, I wasn't necessarily surprised. I've been noticing with American Idol that the trends on the winners of each season have usually been males with a country/rock background! It takes me back to Taylor Hicks, Scotty McCreery, and now Phillip Phillips. Even though Jessica Sanchez didn't win, though she totally deserved to in regards to her amazing and soulful voice, her career is basically taken care of. There have been numerous American Idol contestants who didn't win the title, but have had even more successful careers than the actual winners! Remember Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken? Nonetheless, congratulations to PP! I'll definitely support you Miss Jessica Sanchez! And to the beloved American Idol, keep doin' your thang with these finales!

FLY LIKE A FEATHER, A FASHION TREND!

Who knew feathers could come in an array of different styles and colors! If you wanted to make a bold statement, or keep it more subtle, take feathers into your fashion closet. It doesn't necessarily have to be clothes either, it can be accessories!

On many red carpets, you see celebrities rocking dressing with feather detailing on it (Eva Longoria, Angie Harmon, Blake Lively). It can range from any color too, but make sure it runs in the same color palette as to what you're mainly wearing, nothing too far from it please!

The biggest accessory in the feather department comes from hair clips/extentions and earrings. You see women AND men (Steven Tyler) taking this trend by the masses!

My favorite feather fashion is anything PEACOCK!!! The deep hues of green, blue, gold and purple really bring out a look of royalty and richness. Check these cute fashion digs which are my fave!!!

LaPlumeEthere Peacock Pumps on Etsy.com $75 http://www.etsy.com/listing/71030015/blue-peacock-peep-toe-pleated-pump-size

Victoria Wieck Peacock Feather Earrings $99.95 http://jewelry.hsn.com/victoria-wieck-1-11ct-absolute-tanzanite-color-peacock-feather-earrings_p-5765901_xp.aspx

New Season of American Idol

The new season of American Idol kicked out today on Fox at 8pm and sure did I tune in. I haven't been excited for American Idol this much since the first season! Like all reality shows, the hype builds and then dies down with each consecutive season. Sure we were used to Simon's crass remarks, Paula's supportive nature, and Randy's 'Dawg' statements, we don't know how much further the show would progress alongside it's contestants.
But this season certainly caught my attention! With rumors circulating about Simon leaving the Idol cast and Paula also leaving, starting her own reality dance show, the future of this show did not look break. Then the search started for the new judges who would fill the seat of Simon and Paula. Rumors were circulating about potential judges but no one was sure.
When the new judges were announced: Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, this drew great media attention. Many questioned Steven Tyler's credibility. Though he is the frontman for legendary rock group Aerosmith, he was just a rocker. Did he know anything about music and judging a competition? Then there was Jennifer Lopez, who is said to be such a "diva." Criticized for her unrealistic talent in the music business about having no real voice, questions also arised to her credibility. Yes she is successful and beautiful, but does she know anything about singing?
Despite all the controversy these new judges may bring, I'm excited because I love JENNIFER LOPEZ and AEROSMITH is one of my favorite groups! Tuning into the first episode tonight, I can already see that Steven Tyler plays the role as the crazy harsh judge=he either likes you or he doesn't; Jennifer Lopez plays the mentor who gives supportive criticism if there is any; and Randy Jackson seems like he takes more of a backseat to the crazy personalities of the other judges-he says what he thinks and that's basically it. I mean it's just the first episode, but when multiple judges are involved, each has to bring their own style to the table. HERE'S TO THE NEW SEASON OF AMERICAN IDOL, LOOKS AMAZING!
