TUPAC COMES BACK TO LIFE AT COACHELLA

How can anyone avoid all the Coachella hype leading up to the first weekend that just happened? It didn't help that on every social media channel are constant updates to every second of Coachella: the performers, the fashion, the drugged out times with friends...

Every year, Coachella's goal is to out-do the previous year. I can recall last year when Kanye West performed, and asides from the specific artists I would've loved to see: The Black Keys, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, David Guetta, SBTRKT, Childish Gambino, Dr. Dre & Snoop, Calvin Harris, and Santigold, one performance will have people talking for the rest of their lives.

But one performance in particular stole the show, and the entire Coachella weekend. Tupac, yes Tupac, made an appearance at Coachella. How you ask? By a hologram, that looked eerily real. This hologram that was 4 months in the making looked, moved, rapped, and danced like Tupac making others wonder if this was an actual hoax. Seeing the performance gave me serious chills, but even more creepy is when he shouted out "Coachella"! His set consisted of "2 of Americaz Most Wanted" and "Gangsta Party" Look at it here:

With all the hype and stories that surrounded the first weekend, what surprises will the second weekend bring? Do you think they will be another Tupac performance? I personally don't think so, maybe another type of hologram, like Biggie or something. I don't know how I'd feel if there was the same exact set for the Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg performance, it won't be as surprising. Go "Big"! (Get it?)

Speaking of holograms, check out the cool video below which explains how a person can come to life via this extraordinary technology.

For now, those that didn't and won't go to Coachella this year, such as myself, will try and "re-live" what could've been through the media and all our friends' pics uploaded online. I'm pretty anxious though to "hear" about the differences between weekends, and in the same way ready for it to be over with! ;)

COACHELLA 2012 HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

I honestly had no idea that the announcements for who would be at Coachella would come out so soon. On social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, so many people are posting the picture that was released on who was going to be at Coachella this year.

Last year, they made headlines with Kanye West being the last performer on the third day. Now Coachella will end the three day festival with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Let the west coast rap have a comeback!

If I was going, which I'm not planning to as of yet, this is who I would be excited to see (in no particular order):

The Black Keys, Afrojack, Frank Ocean, David Guetta, Childish Gambino, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg, and Calvin Harris.

I honestly don't know a lot of these artists. This year, Coachella will be hosted for two weekends instead of one: April 13-15 and April 20-22. What artists are you looking forward to seeing? Do you think the lineup is as good as last years?!

SNOOP DOGG JOINS IN CHARLIE SHEEN'S WINNING CAMPAIGN

Today, the song WINNING by Charlie Sheen and Snoop Dogg is officially released. Rob Patterson, former guitarist of Korn, co-wrote the song explaining, "Look, it's a good song. But I honestly don't want people to take it seriously. It's meant to be fun and entertaining." He was also the one who asked Snoop Dogg to take part in the song, which he was more than enthusiastic to do.

Charlie says, "Well, the genesis of the song is about, you know, winning. It's just everything in life. I think Snoop did a really good job at kind of encapsulating the whole vibe of you know the movement." Carmen Electra also makes a small appearance on the track saying, "Oh, good evening, Mr. Sheen. Are you winning?" in which Snoop Dogg interjects "No, he's smokin' right now!"

All proceeds for WINNING available on iTunes in 2 different versions [1 family version & 1 with expletives] will go to Sheen's foundation Torpedoes for Tornadoes to help victims from the recent tornadoes devastating the southern states.

R.I.P. NATE DOGG 3/15/11

Last night, news of the death of soulful singer Nate Dogg was everywhere...news, internet, especially my Facebook. There is no doubt that this musician had a big impact on my generation.

Born in Long Beach CA, he formed a rap trio with Snoop Dogg and Warren G from the Rollin 20 Crips gang. Known for his soulful singing style, not only did he made many appearances on Tupac songs, but also peaked to #3 on the Billboard hip-hop charts in 2001. His last album self-titled

Nate Dogg was finally released in 2008.

Nate Dogg had a string of health problems that may have contributed to his death at the early age of 41. In December 2007, he suffered a stroke which reportedly rendered the left side of his body paralyzed, yet his voice was not affected. But soon after in September 2008, Nate Dogg suffered another stroke which would alter his singing career and therefore health. It is unclear what may have been the cause of Nate Dogg's death, though health scares do seem very likely.

Let's take a moment to re-live Nate Dogg's inspiration to our generation...
