REST IN PEACE AMY WINEHOUSE
My friend told me the news first thing Saturday morning and I was shocked! Even though she had her run-ins with the law and countless drug/alcohol incidents, we always think that nothing bad will ever happen until it actually does!
Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home in Camden Square northern London home on Saturday. Police confirmed the death before ambulance arrived at the scene. Though the cause of death is not known, we all have an idea that it had to involve some sort of alcohol and/or drug abuse.
She was born in 1983 and started in showbiz at a very early age. At 10, Amy and a friend formed a rap group called Sweet n' Sour [she was Sour] and became known as "the little white Jewish Salt 'n' Pepa." She attended Brit School, a performing arts academy, and was originally signed to "Pop Idol" under Simon Fuller's management.
Her debut album "Frank" earned Amy an Ivor Novello songwriting award, two Brit nominations, and a spot for the Mercury Sound Prize. In 2006, Amy found global fame with her second album "Back to Black" which fused soul, jazz, and doo-wop with lyrics about romantic obsession and emotion overload. This album ended up winning five Grammys, including Song and Record of the Year for "Rehab".
With the fame, Amy's personal life started to make front page news regarding drunken and drugged out escapades. It became public that she struggled with eating disorders and that she was diagnosed as a manic depressive but didn't take medication. Though she often made tabloid news, her fans were always loyal to her, as seen in her anticipated come back tour in Europe. But when Amy appeared drunk on stage where she couldn't even sing her songs and was boo'd off-stage, it was obvious she was still struggling with substance abuse. After her label cancelled the tour for Amy to recover, fans hoped that she would focus on living a healthier lifestyle. Then on July 24, Amy Winehouse passed away.
As I mentioned earlier, I am still very shocked. I caught on to Amy Winehouse by hearing the song "You Know I'm No Good" which is one of my favorite songs to this day. Her voice was so sultry and strong, I loved how soothing it was and its strong lyrics. I feel for her because she did have great talent and if only she would've overcome her addictions, there is no telling how much more of an influence she would've been to the world with her music. REST IN PEACE <3

AARON CARTER REVEALS MICHAEL JACKSON'S DRUG/ALCOHOL HANDOUTS
Leave it up to attention seeking people who reveal information that isn't pertinent anymore...Aaron Carter, who has been in and out of rehab, reveals the relationship he shared with the late Michael Jackson. Though he never spoke much about their friendship, he opens up about their relationships which embodied getting introduced to good music and included drugs/alcohol.
Aaron says in an interview, "I never talked about it… This is the first time. I do… I miss Michael… I have spent such incredible times with him. I did things with him that nobody else did… But I was also troubled about what he did to me … Yes, he gave me wine. I mean, I could have refused, but I was 15. He gave me cocaine. I felt weird about that and other stuff… We spoke afterwards, hours and hours, on the phone. I admired Michael, but his behaviour bothered me a lot. Then my mother called the police…"
Can you say total shocker?! But what is Aaron Carter's word almost two years after Michael Jackson passed away? I mean if you never mentioned it before, what good comes out of mentioning it now whether it is true or false? No one likes a rat, especially after the fact that someone legendary passes away, at least state something where the other person involved can defend themselves!!!

JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS SUICIDE ATTEMPT!!!
Jonathan Rhys Meyers...had the biggest crush on him ever since I saw him on Bend It Like Beckham. Since then it seems his career has been on the ups, appearing on TV series, movies, fragrance lines, ad campaigns, etc.
Which breaks my heart to see this news story. Jonathan has been taken away from an ambulance due to a possible suicide attempt by the cause of overdosing on pills. He was found by paramedics on the floor refusing treatment for half an hour, making them call the police.
It was stated, "This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life."
"Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital."
This isn't the first time Jonathan has had his share of troubles in related to substance abuse. He's been struggling with alcohol for awhile and has been to rehab five times. We truly are praying for you and hope things get better because suicide is never the answer for a cure. Not only will it affect you, but also so many others around you who know you intimately and impersonally like all your fans and supporters. Stay strong!!!

AMY WINEHOUSE TOUR SHOWS CANCELLED DUE TO DRUNKEN CONCERT PERFORMANCE
Just when we thought Amy Winehouse couldn't back track from the "progress" she's been making as of late, we were wrong once again...
This past Saturday [June 18], Amy Winehouse showed up nearly an hour late to the kick-off of her European tour in Serbia. The concert took place at Begrade's Kalemegdan Park, where Amy Winehouse was stumbling across stage, mumbling through her songs, and occasionally exiting the stage leaving her band and back-up singers to perform in her place amongst a boo-ing crowd of 20,000.
Check out the footage from the concert:
This was the first out of twelve shows she would be doing around Europe, but has now cancelled a few of her upcoming shows today in Istanbul and this upcoming Wednesday in Athens. The singer's rep commented, "Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, [Winehouse] has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do." Fans will be notified as soon as possible in regards to her other shows scheduled for the European tour.
It's difficult to see Amy Winehouse, only 27, struggling through ongoing substance abuse, where she is seen going in and out of Rehab [no pun intended]. Her erratic behavior is not only portrayed in tabloids, but also to her millions of fans who have supported her and her music throughout the years. This carefree attitude shows that she doesn't care about her well-being and her music, which makes fans start not to care. The basic point is that through Amy Winehouse's highs and lows, we all still want to see her succeed because she has unbelievable talent. We still believe in you, you just need to believe in yourself!!!
