VOGUE ITALIA PROMOTES THE BEAUTY OF THE PLUS SIZE MODEL

On the cover of the June 2011 issue of VOGUE ITALIA are beautiful plus size models clad in lingerie, posing with nothing other than food. This issue helps celebrate curvy models, the few that have been successful in the modeling world amidst a sea of skinny, anorexic looking models.

Franca Sozzani, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia comments, "We help [plus-size women] dress fashionably. We say: It's pointless for you to buy leggings, take this because this will look good on you. We help them choose. We don't talk about diets because they don't want to be on a diet, but it's not a ghetto. Why should these women slim down? Many of the women who have a few extra kilos are especially beautiful and also more feminine." Earlier this year during March, Sozzani launched a petition against a pro-anorexia websites.

The models featured in the issue are Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, Robyn Lawley, and Marquita Pring. The black and white photospread looks classic and these curvy beauties show that they are strong enough to compete with the standard model type we all think of today. Modeling, especially in high fashion shouldn't be about how tall or skinny you are; what matters is the confidence that is portrayed to nail each and every photo shoot, and the good values you bring upon others who look to you for guidance.
