"YOU BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE"
I know I've heard this countless times, but I'm writing about it because I saw this on Oprah's LiveStream at work today titled nothing other than "You Become What You Believe". This caught my eye because I am a firm believer in that, though it can be difficult to keep that positive energy surrounding yourself all the time.
There have definitely been times where I would do the pity me talk, and feel sorry for myself and question my purpose in life especially when I didn't have an official job for the start of 2011. With my job that therefore led to a job I currently have and I love, came great opportunity. Not only do I truly enjoy what I'm doing, but blogging and all the writing I have been doing for free is now paying off because now I'm a Main Contributor for a magazine that is launching in November.
Reflecting on everything, it's crazy to think how life can provide so many blessings and opportunities. When I talk to people and find out what they do or aspire to be, it's low key heartbreaking to see them pursue something they're not really enthused about, just because it makes good money. Like why go to the medical field? Because you're parents want you to? Or why be an accountant if you hate it and find it boring? Because it's a safe job? These are not, I repeat NOT good reasons to pursue a career.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I was meant to do something big. Of course I didn't know what it would be, but I knew God had something big in store for me. Though I've changed what I officially wanted to do in my life quite a few times, I feel like I'm slowly starting to adjust what I'm meant to do and taking that direction. There is nothing wrong with a bit trial and error people! Because without trying, you will never experience failure, and the motivation to get back up and try even harder to get to that place you aim to be at.
Positive thinking can take us to so many places in life. The secret which should seem pretty obvious is to speak great things into your life. What good does it do to call yourself a failure? Because the more you keep with the negativity, the more you're going to believe that you are a failure and everything you do will seem like it never takes off. If I had to pick whether to be a person filled with positive energy, I would definitely live that way instead of in the dumps. So remember..."You become what you believe."
