BATTLE OF THE SINGING COMPETITIONS::AMERICAN IDOL VS. THE VOICE
Of course this was inevitable, two singing competitions on different networks, both reality, yet very different...While American Idol is on it's tenth season with FOX, The Voice is on it's first season on NBC and is getting rave reviews.
Musician and judge Adam Levine was the first to throw a low blow saying, "The people that we're not turning our chairs around for could win American Idol."
The 'dawg' Randy Jackson quickly responded firing back, "It's a great thing when talent can be simple, honest and revered as opposed to spinning around with gimmicky chairs. Maybe Simon Cowell should have people opening doors. Like, 'Knock, knock; Who's singing? I can't see you!'Look, none of these other shows could exist without somebody forging the path before them. I'm happy to say that Idol did that and paved the way."
So which one do you like better? I honestly prefer American Idol over The Voice because it's a pretty simple competition that can be molded into so many different challenges. The talent on American Idol is way better than The Voice, hands down. The only thing great about that show is seeing Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
With X Factor about to make it's American debut soon, what is the future for reality singing competitions? Randy Jackson comments, "My only fear is that with all these shows coming is that people don't tire of the format. I don't know how much singing at you the public can take." True that dawg! You can't have so many of the same kinds of shows that have the same foundation, because in actuality it's a SINGING SHOW! There seriously needs to be more ideas for reality shows out there.
